Most nights the problem is not a lack of films. It is a long list of maybes, five streaming apps and nobody willing to decide. By the time you pick, the evening is half gone.
Filmtally starts from the films you already chose. It looks at your watchlist, checks which of those are streaming on your services, weighs them against the genres you rate highest, and hands you one pick for the day. Not the night for it? Ask for another.
Your watchlist is the shortlist
Save films whenever you hear about them. Tonight's pick only comes from released films you have not watched yet, so it is always something you wanted to see.
On a service you already pay for
Set your country and streaming services once. Films you can press play on tonight come first, and every film shows where it streams, with your services highlighted.
Rate it tomorrow
The next day Filmtally asks once whether you watched it. Rate it from 1 to 10 in a tap. It leaves your pick rotation, and the rating teaches your recommendations what you like.
Questions before you start
How does Filmtally decide what I should watch tonight?
It looks at your watchlist first: released films you have not watched yet. Films streaming on your services come first, then the rest, ranked by how you rate their genres, with a small nudge for films that have waited longest. If nothing on your watchlist fits, it picks from your personal recommendations.
Does the pick change during the day?
No. You get one pick per day, so it is still there in the evening. Another pick swaps it and keeps the new one for the rest of the day.
Does it show where to watch?
Yes. Each film shows the subscription services that carry it in your country, with yours highlighted. Availability comes from TMDB and JustWatch.
What if we are watching as a group?
Use Watch together: invite friends, everyone swipes through a deck built from your watchlists, and Filmtally shows the films you all said yes to.
