Friends see each other's activity and lists, message and share films directly, and decide what to watch together. Your lists stay between friends unless you choose to make them public.
Add friends
Find friends by username and send a request, or invite someone from your phone's share sheet. Friendship goes both ways, so there are no one-sided follows.
See what friends are watching
The activity feed shows what friends watched, how they rated it, and what they saved. Your Tonight screen shows it too.
Send a film, talk about it
Share any film straight into a friend's messages as a card they can open and save. Messages arrive in real time, and Watch together sessions get their own group chat.
Share your lists publicly
Switch on a public watchlist or watched list and anyone with the link can browse its posters, no account needed. Your profile shows your top genres and how many films you have watched.
Questions before you start
Who can see my watchlist and ratings?
Your friends. Anyone else only sees your watchlist or watched list if you make it public in settings, and both are off by default. Your profile card, with your watched count and top genres, is visible to everyone.
Can I message people who are not my friends?
No. Messages are between friends, which keeps your inbox free of strangers.
How do group chats work?
A group chat opens from a Watch together session, with the films you agreed on already in it.
Will Filmtally email me?
No. Friend requests, invites and alerts show up in the notification bell inside Filmtally.
Is Filmtally free?
Yes. Sign in with Google, no credit card.
